ISO (Internation Organization for Standardization) is
the world's leading developer of international
standards. Their standards specify requirements for
state-of-the-art products, processes, services and
systems for managerial and organizational practices.
ISO-9001 is concerned with "quality management". This
means what the organization does to enhance customer
satisfaction by meeting customer and applicable
regulatory requirements and to continually improve its
performance in this regard. ISO 14000 is primarily
concerned with "environmental management". This means
what the organization does to minimize harmful effects
on the environment caused by its activities, and to
continually improve its environmental performance.
OSHAs 18001 gives requirements for an occupational
health and safety (OH&S) management system to enable
an organization to control its OH&S risks and improve
its performance.
