Sasol Olefins & Surfactants (O&S) belongs to Sasol Limited, an integrated energy and chemical company based in
Johannesburg, South Africa.
Sasol O&S is a global producer of surfactant intermediates, a leading producer of surfactants to the European
market and a leading producer of high purity aluminas and related specialty products globally. The company
also offers one of the largest and most diversified portfolio of C6+ alcohol products in the world.
More specifically, Sasol O&S manufactures and markets a broad range of organic and inorganic products, such as
C6-C22 alcohols, linear alkyl benzene, surfactants, oleochemicals, and other organic intermediates like ethylene
and ethylene oxide, inorganic specialty chemicals such as aluminas (hydroxides and oxides), silica-aluminas and
hydrotalcites. With its over 300 products Sasol O&S serves more than 3,000 customers all over the world.
The products are used in detergents, cleaners, paint and coatings, leather and metal processing, personal care
products and lubricants as well as in catalysts, high performance abrasives and polymer additives.
Sasol O&S has a large global footprint with its presence in 15 countries around the world. The company employs
about 3,000 people and runs 13 production sites in seven countries: Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Dubai, USA,
South Africa and China and participates in a joint-venture with Wilmar China Investment (Yihai) in China running
an alcohols plant in Lianyungang. The international Headquarters of O&S is in Hamburg (Germany).
